Walking back down from the Wannian Monastery you may happen upon this stretch of vendors. Here you will find some good local Sichuan eats including pan breads and many forms of “hot stuff”. This picture was taken around dusk. The people walking ahead on the path are official “monkey feeders”. They hike into areas abundant with wild monkeys, sell feed to tourists and demonstrate the fine art of monkey feeding. These folks like many Sichuan people seem fairly laid back and happy with their mellow life in the pristine shadow of Emei Mountain.
