Most schools in China have their own school uniforms. Hence, seeing groups of children walking in “school colors” is common. You may also see girls and even boys in their teens holding hands or with arms around each other as they walk. This form of Chinese camaraderie is quite innocent although it does strike many a less-than-cosmopolitan westerner as odd. It is actually nice to see the concern and companionship these youngsters share.
